Guidelines for Spaghetti Chefs from

First spaghetti feed of the season gets most kids, some drop-off from
there, but usually at least 40.
Pre-cook spaghetti noodles:
Add to
boiling water, when it returns to a boil and they BARELY begin to soften,
pull them out of the water and Ziploc them, so you can rewarm them FAST
when the kids line up.
HUGE pot of boiling water best with a
drainer liner (can be borrowed
from Tomsen/McGownd if you need).
We needed approx 6-8 packages of cooked noodles (Costco size).
Consider a smaller batch of vegetarian sauce (approx 1/4 or 1/5 size of
the meat sauce).
Tomsen's formula for first spaghetti feed (60-70
eaters):
Meat sauce: sautéed carrots +
2.5-3.5# ground quality meat + 5 qt jars of Classico tomato/basil sauce
(Costco)
Veg sauce: sautéed carrots + onions +
mushrooms + peppers + 2 jars
sauce + 1/2 C bulghur (& some water).
