Duties of the Race Day Coordinator

The Race Day Coordinator makes sure that all the parent volunteers will be there on race day and know what to do. And--- makes sure that necessary gear gets to the race and back to the ski room.

Each race has these volunteers:

• You, the Race Day Coordinator
• Snacks volunteer(s)
• Drink volunteer(s)
• Bus TO Race volunteer(s) (one per bus)
• Bus FROM race volunteer(s) (one per bus)
• Race volunteers (4, or so)
• Heater Czar

Before the race you must:

• Three days before: contact your Race Day volunteers: verify they will be there, answer questions
• Race day morning: These items reside in the West ski room. They go on the bus and must be returned to the ski room. Please be sure all these items get on the bus!
1. Benches for the shelter
2. Tables
3. Banner
4. Blankets
5. Waxing benches, torches, waxes, blue tarps

The BEST way to insure that the above items get on the bus is to be at West High on race morning verify it happens.

These items reside at the home of volunteers. They will appear at the race by same:

1. Propane heaters. Bret Haering is our heater czar. (248-1640, haering@gci.net ) (Propane cannot be on bus and heater may be delicate).

2. EZ-Up shelter (Patrick) (OK Patrick??)

Be sure Bus arrives! Forsyth Bus Company, 278-4287 (Dispatch number) 

Bring your sled (the cheap orange variety works fine) to help transport items. These really come in handy.

At the race—

• Please have names and phone numbers of the race day volunteers. This information is on the West site >>>> www.westskiteam.com .

• Help coaches hand out bibs, if necessary.
